Nikola Jokic has been otherworldly in this year’s playoffs, averaging 29.8 points, 13.1 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game on 54.2% shooting from the field. He has made dominating and winning in the playoffs look so easy that many pundits have begun to seriously gush about his talent.
Amid his playoff onslaught, Jokic now caught the eye of former Orlando Magic superstar Tracy McGrady. Having played in the NBA for 15 years and establishing himself as a Hall of Famer, McGrady is now firmly in his place as a seasoned observer of the NBA.
Making his appearance on the latest episode of “WHAT’S BURNIN’”, McGrady wasn’t short on words, heaping heavy praise on the 28-year old Nuggets big man and comparing him to one of the best point guards of all-time in Jason Kidd.
“Jokic, let me tell y’all something… This dude is so f–king good man. Straight up. I haven’t seen anything like him. The way he passes; you’ve got a 7-foot, 7-foot-1 center bringing up the ball, initiating the offense. Everything goes through him. It is amazing.”
“The passes that he makes from one side of the court to another, on time and on target. The bounce passes in between defenses. You can’t guard him on the post cause he is too big, he can’t jump over a dollar bill, he rebounds, he is amazing.”
“If there was one person I would wanna play with. I would love to play with him. He is a problem. He is like Jason Kidd as a point guard. Those guys don’t have to score to affect the game, but he can score. What can’t he do?”
