Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors’ All-Star guard, wants to have a 3-point contest with and against Sabrina Ionescu, All-Star guard for the New York Liberty.
The two-time WNBA All-Star won the WNBA’s 3-point contest last season, hitting 37 of 40 shots (92.5 percent) to set an all-time record.
She then challenged Curry to a duel and now, five months later, the four-time NBA champion hasn’t forgotten. Curry, the best shooter in NBA history who also holds the record for most 3s made in the NBA, officially said he wanted the chance to go one-on-one against Ionescu.
“Do you know who holds the record for the most points in a 3-point competition?” Curry asked his teammate Brandin Podziemsk.
“…I think I gotta bring her out and be like, we gotta settle this once and for all. I think I gotta challenge her. It’d be lit.”

And it might already be in planning. According to Shams Charania, there is an ‘exciting competition planned’ between the two at the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis.
