A few weeks ago, during an appearance on TNT, Rich Paul made headlines with what likely was a Freudian slip. The Klutch Sports CEO said that LeBron James “is a free agent.”

James, who currently has an ‘open’ $51.4 million player option for next season, that he now seems less likely to opt into, given Paul’s statement.

Now, LeBron’s recent whereabouts have sparked a firestorm of speculation among NBA fans. A photo, since widely circulated on social media, allegedly showed “The King” having lunch with Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse at JG Sky High in Philadelphia.

The sighting immediately fueled rumors of a potential LeBron-to-Philly move. The 76ers, with their championship aspirations and star players Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, have long been considered a potential landing spot.

However, a closer look suggests the photo might be misleading. According to WIP Morning Show host Spike Eskin, James was not actually present at the lunch. Eskin claims the photo shows Nurse and another staff member who simply resembles LeBron James.

LeBron’s wife, Savannah James, also seemingly debunked the rumor by posting a picture of the couple in Los Angeles receiving IV drips. This social media activity suggests James was likely on the West Coast when the Philadelphia sighting took place.

Despite the clarification, the photo has reignited discussions about James’ future. While a move to the 76ers seems unlikely at this point, it serves as a reminder that the NBA offseason is always full of surprises.

Fans will have to wait and see what LeBron James decides, but one thing’s for sure: the NBA rumor mill is churning thanks to this “sky high” sighting.
