In a case of mistaken identity, ESPN displayed French prospect Tidjane Salaün when introducing American player Dalton Knecht during the 2024 NBA Draft.
Sharp viewers were quick to notice the error. Salaün, drafted 6th overall by the Charlotte Hornets, even sported a bemused grin as his face appeared next to Knecht’s accolades. This wasn’t the only case of mistaken identity that night, with another prospect getting mixed up earlier in the broadcast.
Social media, of course, had a field day. The incident quickly went viral, with memes and jokes circulating about the misplaced introductions.
We can’t place it, but something looks different about Dalton Knecht.
