Despite not clinching the MVP title, which went to Denver’s Nikola Jokic, Doncic’s performance throughout the season was nothing short of extraordinary. He averaged an impressive 33.9 points per game, 9.8 assists per game, and 9.2 rebounds per game, numbers that have not been seen since the era of Wilt Chamberlain. His efforts were instrumental in leading the Mavericks to 50 wins in a highly competitive Western Conference.
Doncic’s journey to the ESPY Award was marked by significant milestones. He led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals and was named the Western Conference Finals MVP after a dominant series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
