Pierce got to face the two best small forwards to ever play the game in LeBron James and Kevin Durant. Pierce and LeBron were fierce rivals, but Pierce also had some tough matchups with Durant.

Now retired and in the media spotlight, Pierce is watching James and Durant team up for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Inevitably, their partnership has led to comparisons and a big question for Pierce.

On “Undisputed,” Pierce was asked who he would pick in a winner-take-all game between LeBron and Durant. Despite his history of shading LeBron, Pierce interestingly picked the 39-year-old superstar for this scenario.

“If my life is on the line and I need this player to come up pretty spectacular, I gotta go with LeBron on that one,” Pierce said. “I’ve seen it firsthand. I’ve seen some games that I will never forget, that I probably still have nightmares about.”
