In a surprising and humorous twist, McDonald’s France announced they would be discontinuing their beloved curry sauce following the Olympic basketball final. The announcement came shortly after the thrilling match between France and the USA, which saw the French team narrowly miss out on a gold medal.
The game was tightly contested, however, it was Stephen Curry’s heroics in the fourth quarter that ultimately secured the win for the United States.
Curry, known for his sharpshooting and clutch performances in the NBA, brought his A-game to the global stage. With Team USA trailing by a few points in the final minutes, Curry took over. He made four three-pointers in quick succession, each one more difficult than the last. His ability to create space and knock down shots over defenders left the French team scrambling. One of the most memorable moments was a deep three-pointer over two defenders, which effectively sealed the game for Team USA.
The playful announcement was made on McDonald’s France’s social media channels, where they posted a picture of the iconic curry sauce with a caption that read,
“For obvious reasons, we are considering removing this sauce..”

In a statement to CNN, a spokesperson for McDonald’s France made clear that his only was a joke, due to the NBA stars name.
“This is a joke in reference to yesterday’s basketball game and Stephen Curry’s huge performance,”
Nontheless, this is some great marketing!
