In a recent interview ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers’ game against the Houston Rockets, Paul George made a bold promise to fans. Despite a more than rocky start to the season, he is confident that the 76ers will make the playoffs and turn their season around.
The 76ers have faced significant challenges this season, starting with a 3-13 record. Injuries to key players like Joel Embiid and Paul George himself have contributed to the team’s struggles. However, George remains optimistic about the team’s potential.
“Our effort and energy, I think that’s one thing that we can control,” George said. “Obviously, with big fella out, myself, Tyrese, just joining back, getting his rhythm. I mean, obviously, we’re a little limited, but I think what we can control is just our effort, our energy, and just doing things a little harder, but we’ll change this. We’ll change this around. I’m 100% betting down on that that we’ll change this. It’s on us. We got to control what we can.”
George’s confidence is a beacon of hope for the 76ers and their fans. Despite the early setbacks, he believes that with maximum effort on both ends of the floor, the team can overcome their obstacles and secure a spot in the playoffs.
The 76ers will need to improve their offensive and defensive performance to climb back up the standings. With George and Embiid healthy and in sync, the team still has the potential to make a strong push for the postseason, especially in the weaker Eastern Conference.
