Andre Drummond’s Dramatic Ejection And Unejection

During the Philadelphia 76ers’ game against the San Antonio Spurs, Andre Drummond experienced a rollercoaster of emotions.

Initially ejected for an apparent foul on Spurs’ Victor Wembanyama, Drummond was sent back to the locker room, only to be told moments later that the decision had been overturned.

With just over eight minutes remaining in the second quarter, Drummond was defending Wembanyama when the young Spurs center fell to the ground. To the surprise of anyone watching, referee Jenna Schroeder then ejected Drummond. Sixers head coach, Nick Nurse, was visibly upset and had to be restrained by assistant coach Tyrese Maxey.

As Drummond was making his way to the locker room, the officiating crew reviewed the play and decided to rescind the ejection. Drummond was then seen putting his jersey back on and re-entering the game to a hero’s welcome from the Sixers’ fans, who erupted in applause.

The drama didn’t end there. Sixers’ star Joel Embiid, who had been playing in just his eighth game of the season due to various injuries, was ejected shortly after Drummond’s incident for arguing with the same referee. Embiid’s frustration boiled over, and he was sent off the court as well.

Despite the chaos, the Sixers managed to secure a 111-106 victory over the Spurs. Drummond finished the game with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Embiid contributed 9 points and 3 rebounds before his ejection.
