Nikola Jokic and Russell Westbrook made NBA history on Friday night by becoming the first pair of teammates to record triple-doubles in the same game multiple times in a single season. The Denver Nuggets triumphed over the Brooklyn Nets with a commanding 124-105 victory.
Nikola Jokic, returning from a two-game absence due to illness, led the Nuggets with an impressive performance, finishing the game with 35 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds. This was his 15th triple-double of the season, leading the NBA in this category.
Russell Westbrook, not to be outdone, contributed 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. This was his 202nd career triple-double, the most in NBA history.
In his post-game press conference, Russell Westbrook was made aware of his win-percentage, when having a triple double, but also the slightly superior one of Nikola Jokic. His reaction was hilarious.
Westbrook: “74% you say?”
Reporter: “Yeah”
Westbrook: “So that’s the winning percentage… Damn! That’s crazy.”
Reporter: “Jokic’s is 79 (%).”
Westbrook: “DAAAAAHHHHHHHHH! DAMNIT JOK! DAMNIT”
