Brook Lopez Makes History, Becomes Nets’ All Time Scoring Leader
With 4 minutes and 7 seconds to go in the 4th quarter of last night’s game between the Nets and Celtics, Brooklyn center Brook Lopez made franchise history.
With a turnaround jumper over Al Horford, Lopez became the Nets’ all-time scoring leader.
Lopez, who spent all of his 9 NBA seasons with the Nets (New Jersey and Brooklyn), surpassed Buck Williams, who previously held the record with 10,440 points.
Lopez told the New York Times:
“I definitely think I’m lucky. When people look back on me and my career, I’d like them to say I was one of the people who helped start something big in Brooklyn. Started a legacy where players want to come and play.”
With this bucket, Brook Lopez is the new @BrooklynNets all-time leading scorer. #BrooklynGrit pic.twitter.com/iSASsAYcGD
