If Danny Ainge Gets Gordon Hayward To Sign With Celtics, He’s Possibly Risking His Son’s Career
NBA All-Star Gordon Hayward is a free agent. Many teams are interested in signing him, with one of the front-runners being the Boston Celtics.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski (Woj-bomb) the Celtics are focused on trying to get Gordon Hayward during this coming free agency.
Hayward would be able to reunite with coach Brad Stevens, and play for a contending team. But, this whole situation is a predicament for Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge.
His role of being a father and a General Manager may collide in the pursuit of Hayward.
Ainge’s son Tanner is a Third Congressional District candidat in Utah, who, if he wins the election, will be seated by the U.S. House.
So, where is the problem? Well, a lot of people think that if Danny Ainge signs Gordon Hayward, he risks upsetting Utah voters in his son’s campaign. Some fans even want Tanner to ask his father to back off and not pursue Hayward. During an interview with KSL Newsradion, Tanner Ainge said:
“Unfortunately, I’m not sure I have a lot of influence there. Ultimately, Gordon is going to make the decision. I hope he stays.”
The situation could become tricky, and it’s obvious that while running for a U.S. Congressional Seat in the state of Utah, Tanner Ainge has a different professional interest than his father Danny.

Whenever a sports team loses its star-player, fans are looking for persons to blame. Ainge, even though he doesn’t have anything to do with the Hayward situation, could potentially draw some amount of hate if Gordon left to join his father’s team, eventually losing some votes.
There is a lot of salt in that lake for a reason…
