Best Free Agents Who Are Still Available

This year’s offseason has been crazy so far. The Western Conference is now looking stronger than ever. Superstars such as Chris Paul, Gordon Hayward, Paul Millsap, Jimmy Butler and Paul George left their former teams via trade or free agency. Most of the ‘valuable’ free agents signed with teams already, and it hasn’t even been a week since free agency started.

But there are still plenty of free-agent players on the market, who are looking to sign with a new team, or re-sign with their old team.

To make things a little easier, here are the best free-agent players, who still are available:

Pau Gasol:

He is likely to resign with the Spurs and says that both sides are hoping to reach an agreement soon. If it they somehow don’t reach an agreement, he is a dark horse candidate for the Warriors

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope:

After averaging 13.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals last season, it was almost a certainty for the Pistons to match any offer KCP would receive. But after the Pistons traded for Avery Bradley, they renounced his rights. KCP can now sign where he wants to. The Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Lakers are interested.

Tony Allen:

The defensive bulldog could be heading to California. The Los Angeles Clippers are interested in adding Allen’s talent to their team. This will most likely happen via a sign-and-trade with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Nerlens Noel:

Mark Cuban said resigning Noel would be the Mavericks’ top priority this off-season. But according to HoopsHype, the Atlanta Hawks seem very interested in signing Noel, too.

Anthony Tolliver:

Tolliver was waived by the Sacramento Kings on his birthday (READ HERE) but had a decent season, averaging 7.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 39% from three. The Timberwolves, Bucks, Thunder, Wizards, and Cavs reportedly are interested in signing him.

Andrew Bogut:

After breaking his leg during his first game as a Cavalier, Bogut’s rehab is coming along great. He plans to resume jumping and go back to full basketball workouts within three weeks. His injury did not require surgery. Bogut is the only player to average at least 11 rebounds, two assists and 1.5 blocks per 36 minutes in each of the last 5 seasons. He’ll find a team.

Dewayne Dedmon:

Teams are always looking to add great rim and paint protectors such as Dedmon. Re-signing with the Spurs or signing with the Boston Celtics are the two most realistic options for him.

JaVale McGee:

The Warriors will try to re-sign him, both teams in Los Angeles can offer him more money. Both L.A bound teams, the Lakers and Clippers, are interested in acquiring McGee’s talents.

Derrick Rose:

The Dallas Mavericks are trying to add some veteran leadership alongside rookie point guard Dennis Smit Jr, and, according to the New York Post, have emerged as contenders to land Derrick Rose. The Bucks are also interested.

Alex Len:

Many teams are interested, without anyone being the favorite. Len wants to take his time, trying to sign with a team where he can play big minutes. His per-36-minute averages from last season were pretty impressive: 14.1 points, 11.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks.

David Lee:

The veteran All Star big man is in discussions with a bunch of teams, including the Spurs, who want to resign him.

Jonathon Simmons:

After his breakthrough year, Simmons got lots of options. The Spurs want to re-sign him, but the Clippers, Timberwolves, Suns and Knicks are also among teams that are interested to sign him

Ian Clark:

After the addition of Nick Young, it very unlikely for Clar to re-sign with the Warriors. He also wants/deserves to earn more than the minimum.

JaMychal Green:

No ‘serious’ rumors yet, possibly re-signing with the Grizzies

Nikola Mirotic:

Mirotic is very likely to re-sign with the Bulls.

Mason Plumlee:

Nuggets are likely to re-sign him as a backup for Millsap/Jokic
