CJ Miles Almost Had To Change His Last Name After Being Traded
“You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?”
“They don’t call it a Quarter Pounder with Cheese?”
“No, they got the metric system there, they wouldn’t know what the fuck a Quarter Pounder is.”
“What’d they call it?”
“They call it Royale with Cheese.”
The metric system! Something the whole world is using – well, almost.
NBA veteran player CJ Miles was traded from the Indiana Pacers to the Toronto Raptors this offseason. Canada converted to the metric system in the 1970s, and while it was perfectly fine for CJ to use his last name ‘Miles’ back in Indiana, it could cause some confusion using this name up north.
It has been suggested that CJ changes his name to ‘CJ Kilometers’.
But after some consideration, and a conversation with his wife, Miles declined the proposal and his name remains CJ Miles.
Me and the wife talked it over .. but ultimately decided to stick with Miles .. was close though!.. https://t.co/xVvXTepiCe

Let’s just hope it won’t confuse too many Canadians. The good thing is: his jersey number is 0. Zero miles, are zero kilometers – that makes it a whole lot easier.
