Kevin Durant Breaks Guinness World Record
NBA Champion Kevin Durant is currently traveling around India, promoting the NBA to India’s 1.3 billion inhabitants.
During the tour, he set a new Guinness World Record. Durant and 3,459 Indian children from the Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA program set the record for the world’s largest basketball lesson, across multiple venues, ever.
Some of the young kids were onsite the NBA Academy in India, others participated via satellite from other Indian cities.

Durant said:
“Sharing my love of basketball with thousands of boys and girls across India was an unbelievable experience. It was an honor to coach these amazing kids and to be a part of this special day.”
Since its launch in 2013, the NBA Academy India in Delhi and its ‘Reliance Foundation Jr. NBA Program’ have reached more than six million kids and developed over 5,000 trainers, to help basketball and the NBA grow in one of the world’s most populated countries.
