The Cavaliers Will Honor Kyrie Irving With A Tribute Video Tonight
It all is set and we’re ready to go. After one of the craziest NBA offseasons in history, the Boston Celtics and Cleveland Cavaliers will play the first game of the 2017-18 NBA season.
One of the crazy moves of this past offseason, was the Kyrie Irving to Boston trade. The setup is crazy. In his first ever NBA game as a non-Cavalier, he will face the team he played for in his first 6 years.
There was a lot of noise regarding his trade. Not only did Irving personally request a trade from the Cavaliers, he also talked a little trash about Cleveland not being a sports city.
Nontheless, the Cavaliers will honor Kyrie, when he returns with the Celtics tonight.
The Cavaliers intend to honor Kyrie Irving on Tuesday night with a video tribute during Cleveland’s season-opening tilt against Irving’s Boston Celtics.
According to a team source, the video is a “thank you” to Irving intended to show appreciation for all he accomplished in six seasons here.
I doubt that a lot of fans want to see Kyrie getting honored. He has become the villain. But on the other hand, the former number one draft pick deserves it. He did play 381 games with the Cavs, winning a championship and averaging 21.6 points and 5.5 assists per game.
