Dwyane Wade Gifted Custom Shoes And Jersey To Parkland Shooting Victim’s Family
On February 14, a former student shot students and teachers at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. He killed 17 and injured dozens more. As after previous shootings, the NBA family has been vocal about increased gun control.
One of the victims was Joaquin Oliver. Joaquin was laid to rest in his Dwyane Wade Jersey. Dwyane Wade was moved by it and honored him with a pair of custom shoes, that he wore the night after.
This is Joaquin Oliver. He was one of the 17 young lives that were lost tragically at Douglas HighSchool in Parkland. Joaquin was one of many that i heard was excited about my return to Miami and yesterday was buried in my jersey. This is why we will not just SHUT up and dribble! pic.twitter.com/X0tfTTao33

According to The Miami Herald’s Manny Navarro, Wade met with Oliver’s parents, Manuel and Patricia before last night’s game between the Miami Heat and the Detroit Pistons. He gave them a pair of custom shoes, similar to those he wore, with Oliver’s name on them, and a Miami Heat ‘Vice’ jersey.
