Gilbert Arenas Explains Why LeBron’s Bubble Championship Technically Was The Hardest
Last year’s NBA playoffs were inarguably the most bizarre situation NBA teams have ever encountered. Due to the threat of the coronavirus pandemic, teams had to adjust in a closed, isolated environment with a lack of fans, no home-court advantage, and no cross-city travels and such.
Because of these odd circumstances, some players in the likes of LeBron James, Damian Lillard, Terrence Ross and Giannis Antetokounmpo have echoed that the NBA bubble championship was one of the, if not the hardest, hardest championships in NBA history.
Now, former Washington Wizards star Gilbert Arenas also expressed the same stance. During his ‘No Chill’ podcast, Arenas explained why LeBron and the Lakers’ bubble championship was technically the hardest championship.
“I said technically, that is the hardest championship because it’s LeBron and the Lakers. Now, when you think about the fanbase of a Laker team and LeBron team, every arena they would win in, he (LeBron) was fan-favorite,” Arenas said.
“So when you’re in the NBA Bubble, it took the fan’s favorite out of them. Now, you don’t get boo-ed at your own home.”
