Kendrick Perkins Absolutely Rips Steve Kerr For Ripping Anthony Davis
About six weeks ago, after months of going back and forth, the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans agreed on a trade that sent Anthony Davis to Laker Land
After a trade had failed before this year’s trade deadline, both teams’ season got derailed in the aftermath. 4 months later, both front offices were finally happy with the other side’s offer.
But forcing his way out of his contract caused many fans and members of the media to criticize him. And now, Steve Kerr, who was never someone to mince words and has always voiced his opinion even on topics most people in the NBA stay away from, and went off on Davis on the Warriors Insider Podcast. Coach said that this marks a trend that could be terrible for the league, and he’s right.
“I’m talking more about the Anthony Davis situation. Where a guy is perfectly healthy and has a couple years left on his deal and says, ‘I want to leave.’ That’s a real problem that the league has to address and that the players have to be careful with.
When you sign on that dotted line, you owe your effort and your play to that team, to that city, to the fans. And then it’s completely your right to leave as a free agent. But if you sign the contract, then you should be bound to that contract.
If you come to an agreement with the team that, hey, it’s probably best for us to part ways, that’s one thing. But the Davis stuff was really kind of groundbreaking — and hopefully not a trend, because it’s bad for the league.”
Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins, who now works for ESPN as an analyst wasn’t a fan of Kerr’s statement and ripped Kerr for ripping Davis, and he’s got a point.
Steve Kerr got his got damn nerves to talk about anything that’s going on with any other organization, as if he just didn’t have Kevin Durant join a 73-9 team! BTW @SteveKerr Mark Jackson built that dynasty in GS!!! The Nerve of him!

I wonder why @SteveKerr didn’t say anything about Paul George forcing his way outta of OKC? I know why because Alvin Gentry is his close friend! Hidden Agendas!!! SMH

AD had just as much as of obligation as the team, the team traded every 1st round pick they had , surrounded him with mediocre talent consistently, but you rather him be stuck there. He actually did them a favor and allowed the team to hit the reset button and retain assets!

Houston traded Chris Paul after they said they wasn’t, I don’t see sympathy for him. AD just got in front of it, so Kudos to him!

First of all I knew KD was FA but my point was that when KD signed with GS was that bad for the league? Kerr said AD forcing a trade was bad for the league, so I guess KD signing with a 73-9 team was great for the league huh? Smh

Luke Walton went 20-1 with the same team when Kerr was out so don’t come telling me how great of a Coach Kerr is! Please Stop it!

When a NBA organization trades a player with no warning and do what’s best for the team nobody say anything and everyone tells the player things like it’s a business and don’t take it personal but when a player “Superstar” wants to go in another direction it’s a big problem. SMH

What players should start doing is playing the contract out and when it’s up leave an organization and leave them with nothing right? At least players are giving the organization a chance to get back assets and not leaving them out to dry!
