Kwame Brown Blasts Anthony Davis As Fake Leader After Dwight Howard Altercation

Kwame Brown was the first player selected in the 2001 NBA draft. He was taken by Washington Wizards ahead of defensive stalwart Tyson Chandler and one of the greatest power forwards of all-time Pau Gasol, who respectively went second and third overall pick.

Brown’s career didn’t pan out as expected, and the former Wizards center ended up transforming himself into one of the biggest busts in NBA history with averages of 6.6 points and 5.5 rebounds on 49.2% shooting, without securing any major NBA accolade.

It’s understandable why almost everyone considers Kwame as an NBA draft bust, given how his career turned out as the first overall pick, but he was a better player than people today make it seem.

Kwame also is someone who never shies away from voicing his opinion. He now gave his take on the Dwight Howard, Anthony Davis altercation from the Lakers – Suns Game and called out AD for his improper leadership and disrespecting Dwight Howard.

“The Anthony Davis situation – I think that was terrible. I think Anthony Davis is a very talented player. But Anthony Davis, in my opinion, you’re no leader. Because you called this man Dwight Howard your brother? Let me explain what you just did for your brother. Dwight Howard is a veteran in this league. That should come with a little bit of respect.

You’re not running up on no god damn rookie. You running up on a grown ass man. What I saw was a man trying to assert his leadership, but he did it like a boy. The moment you’d walk up to me and you put your hand on my chest, hitting my chest. We ain’t talking about basketball no more.”
