LaVar Ball Says LaMelo Ball Doesn’t Need Advice From Michael Jordan: “When Was The Last Time He Won A Championship?”
As a young rookie who still has a lot of things to figure out, one might assume that LaMelo Ball needs all the advice and mentoring he could get from the best basketball minds around him, specifically from Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan. Apparently, it doesn’t work that way according to LaMelo’s father LaVar Ball.
While Jordan is widely-considered as the greatest player to ever play the game of basketball, LaVar still isn’t convinced with Jordan’s experience and knowledge that he could possibly share to his 19-year old son, who has been one of the reasons why the Hornets are competing for a playoff spot at this point of the season.
In fact, LaVar doesn’t think Jordan has any advice to give to the young Hornets point guard, noting that the game has changed and the last time Jordan has ever won a championship was in the late 90’s. Per ESPN Radio:
“How often does he seek out advice from Michael Jordan? Never! What advice is he going to give? When was the last time he won a championship? And the game has changed. What is he going to tell him? The Charlotte Hornets have been around for a long time before my son got there. Tell some of those guys how to win. You don’t need to tell my boy!”
