NBA Executive Reveals That There Are 29 Teams That Would Be Willing To Take Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose has done a good job steadily progressing since suffering major injuries during the early point of his career. In his two recent seasons with the Knicks, Rose has averaged 13.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists on 47.1% shooting from the field.
As a veteran who has established himself as an unselfish bench spark, it’s not a surprise that the former league MVP still has a lot of believers and could still pick up potential suitors along the way. In fact, one NBA executive namechecked Rose as the most tradeable player on the Knicks roster.
In an interview with Sean Deveney of Heavy.com, the aforementioned NBA executive implied that there are 29 teams that would be willing to trade for the 33-year old Knicks point guard despite his age and injury history.
Said the exec: “He’s older now obviously and whatever happened off the floor with him, on the floor he has been such a pro everywhere he has gone. His contract is good ($14.5 million for 2022-23, player options at $15.6 million for 2023-24), he has become a very good three-point shooter, he brings energy, he likes coming off the bench.”
As such, the exec believes that “there are 29 teams that would be willing to take him.” Obviously, that’s list that would include the Bulls, who face at least a modicum of uncertainty in the backcourt heading into next season due to Lonzo Ball’s extended recovery from left knee surgery.
