Steve Kerr Says Golden State And Andrew Wiggins Has Been ‘Perfect Marriage’
Andrew Wiggins has found redemption and a home with the Golden State Warriors after his unappreciated sting with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Often described as an underachiever and a bust throughout his early career, the former No.1 overall turned things around in Golden State and made the most of the opportunity to silence his doubters, setting himself up as an All-Star starter and an NBA champion.
In his first NBA Finals, Wiggins impressed with averages 18.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game on 44.6% shooting from the field. He had his biggest game in Game 5 where he tallied a 26/13/2 stat line to help the Warriors slip past the Boston Celtics.
Ever since helping to bring the Warriors back to the top, his haters have been real quiet. Wiggins’ head coach Kerr however now was everything but quiet. During his appearance on the “Damon and Ratto” radio show, Kerr praised Wiggins to the skies, saying adding him to the team was the ‘perfect marriage’
“He couldn’t have played that role any better in the Finals especially, but really throughout the playoffs. The way he rebounded, the way he guarded the opponent’s best players, he was just awesome…
It’s just been a perfect marriage and we’re thrilled with him and I know he’s happy to be here. So excited to coach Wiggs again,”
