Steve Nash Calls Kevin Durant The Most Skilled Basketball Player Ever: “When He’s Healthy, There’s Just Nobody Like Him”
Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash has seen a number of insanely skilled basketball players over the course of his career, but none like Kevin Durant.
Durant has always been sensational since he came into the league, but the two-time Finals MVP has raised the bar and even blew expectations following making a comeback from an Achilles injury that had him sidelined for a year.
After showing off in the NBA playoffs with averages of 34.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 4.4 assists per game on 51.4% shooting, Durant made a statement in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as he helped propel Team USA to their fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal, finishing a game-high of 29 points in their final game.
Durant’s ridiculous performance throughout the year, particularly the Olympics led Steve Nash to pay him the ultimate compliment by appointing him as the most skilled basketball player of all-time.
He’s fearless. I’ve said it before: He’s the most skilled basketball player ever. I mean that. There’s nobody that’s his size, 6-11, that combines shooting and ballhandling skills and athleticism. You’ve never seen it before.
So, this tournament was a perfect example of why you need the best players to win and win championships. And Kevin is the best player in the tournament. When he’s healthy, like he is now, in my mind, there’s just nobody like him and he’s unguardable.
